Saint Columba Altarpiece Triptych Icon Florentine Style Religious Christian Art
This listing is for a beautiful vintage wood triptych icon depicting the Saint Columba Altarpiece. Wooden background with applied prints, metallic gold details, and metal hinges.
A beautiful Italian / Florentine-style religious icon depicting the famous work by Early Netherlandish master Rogier van der Weyden. Originally painted between 1450-1455 for the Church of St. Columba in Cologne, Germany. It depicts the Adoration of the Magi, featuring Mary and Joseph with baby Jesus and the three visiting kings.
Looks great on an office desk, living room shelf, or bedside table. A stunning devotional image, or a lovely piece of artwork for your home. A lovely gift for a Religious Studies major, professor, or teacher, or a thoughtful gift for a new mother or priest / pastor.
Condition: in used vintage condition, with some minor wear to the image, hinges, and wood. The center piece has a hole drilled in the top & bottom, likely from the way it was mounted at one point. This has caused some slight splitting at the base. Some minor play in the hinges. Overall a beautiful rustic piece of religious art.
