This listing is for a professionally framed image of an antique pocket watch, with the back marked Made in Italy. The frame is a beautiful metallic shiny gold leaf covered wood with a glass cover. Ready to hang with metal loop on the back.
Possibly from the 1950s, as the backing paper is labeled 276 5 5-56. The image within the frame is an image of an antique pocket watch from perhaps the 1600s, set to 1:35, possibly depicting the biblical story of Lot and his daughters or perhaps Diana and Endymion / Acteon. This may possibly be a vintage museum souvenir depicting a pocket watch from the museum’s collection. The watch depicted looks like pieces by Jean Pierre Huaud. However, I cannot find another image of this exact watch anywhere.
This frame would fit in with many decor styles, from Old World European to Hollywood Regency. Also fits nicely with global eclectic and boho decor with its opulent metallic gold finish. Would match nicely with Florentine style wood trays! A lovely small gallery wall addition!
Condition: in vintage used condition, with some wear & patina to the gilt frame / wood, and some water spots on the back. Presents very nicely!
