This listing is for an impressive gilt wood hand carved mirror. This large circle mirror has a distinctive French roccoco flair with the elaborate fleur de lis carved crown. Around the perimeter of the mirror is a finely carved rope design. The mirror itself shows signs of age with slight foxing to the silver surface of the mirror another tell of its age and craftsmanship invloved in its making. The piece has a date of 1949 stamped on the backing paper which I believe is the last time the mirror was rebacked or repaired.
Condition:
Some cracking through the crown and base. Mirror is stable and shows its age. Foxing on the silvered glass surface I tried to capture in pictures but is subtle in person.
