This listing is for a handmade studio pottery leaf-form dish with a real leaf pressed into the clay to create the natural vein pattern visible on the interior. The signature on the base appears to read Irowin or possibly Irwin, but the incised mark is partially obscured by glaze and the attribution is uncertain. The construction and materials speckled stoneware body, hand-applied coil feet, variegated brown glaze with darker mottling are consistent with American or Canadian studio pottery from the 1960s through 1990s. The pressed-leaf technique was widely used by studio potters during this period.
